MICHAEL BECHERER

About

Michael Becherer's dedication to humanity's evolution radiates through his practice as a 9 Star Ki practitioner. Born in 1950 in Indiana, he was an emblem of the youthful revolutionaries of the 1960s and early 70s, discerning early on that the conventional path was not his calling. After completing his college education, Michael ventured into the wilderness, training as a mountain guide and eventually becoming one of the founding instructors at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).

In 1978, the currents of destiny led him to Boston, where he delved into the profound teachings of macrobiotics and 9 Star Ki under the esteemed Michio Kushi of Japan. These transformative experiences reshaped his worldview, guiding him towards a holistic understanding of existence.

The mid-1980s marked a pivotal transition as Michael, alongside nurturing a growing family, relocated to Alaska, actively participating in the establishment and development of the macrobiotic community, Ionia. Amidst raising seven children and numerous grandchildren, he remained deeply committed to his spiritual journey and the betterment of his community.

In 2010, Michael found inspiration in Austin, Texas, where he founded Strategy for Evolution. His days are adorned with moments of connection at Barton Springs, shared laughter with his children, and the joy of nurturing his garden. An avid rock climber and culinary enthusiast, he finds balance in the simple pleasures of life.

Through his virtual institute Strategy for Evolution, Michael extends his wisdom and guidance through workshops, private sessions, and couples work, illuminating the transformative potential of 9 Star Ki in everyday living. His steadfast commitment to empowering others reflects his unwavering dedication to the collective evolution of humanity.
